Grasping the gates,
Hunched over
Fielding cries after the pain caught within her
Something is opening.
How she waited for that very flooded heel,
the coming of the pains in her spine
And now dilation
From one end of the world to another she’s bursting
And only thus turns about on her hinge
So she can turn back after
When the living flesh will be brought close slowly, so slowly
And go on to smile and be

A doe.
